Touch of Death (1991 / Raro Video Blu-ray)

Raro Video will release on blu-ray Lucio Fulci’s film Touch of Death (1988), starring Brett Halsey, Ria De Simone, Al Cliver, Sacha Darwin, and Zora Kerova. The release, which will be distributed by Kino Lorber, will be available for purchase on August 5.

What’s the story?

Lester Parson has a great shortcoming: he loves gambling and betting which always, inevitably, makes him broke. Prematurely a widower, Lester decides to resolve his constant need for cash by seducing rich women who are themselves widowed. Once intimate he persuades them to place all their wealth in his name and then he slaughters them mercilessly and, if the situation is such, he eats them. Things appear to be going ok until a mysterious murderer begins emulating Parson’s crimes.

A bit of background

Filming for Touch of Death began on 22 June 1988, shortly after Fulci finished filming Sodoma’s Ghost. The film was shot around Rome and Vides Studios. Fulci later spoke negatively about both films stating that there were so many shots in the film to get the minimum running time of the films. Fucli also argued with the producers on set while the producers were unhappy with him as Fulci was continuously behind schedule.
