Regarding Henry (1991) Blu-ray: A second chance in life

On March 31, 2021, Via Vision Entertainment/Imprint (Australia) will be releasing director Mike Nichols’ much underrated drama, Regarding Henry (1991) on Blu-ray.

Henry Turner is a successful but ruthless New York lawyer who needs to win at any cost, even at the expense of his wife and daughter. But a single gunshot brings Henry’s fast-track rise to a dead stop, leaving him incapacitated and with no memory of the life he used to lead. Now, faced with starting over, Henry Turner is about to learn the hard truth about a total stranger… himself.

This film stars Harrison Ford (Heroes), Annette Bening, Michael Haley, and the screenplay is written by J.J. Abrams. Mike Nichols (The Day of the Dolphin) directs with finesse.

This is a film of obvious and shallow contrivance, which aims without apology for easy emotional payoffs, and tries to manipulate the audience with plot twists that belong in a sitcom.
